Re: Error Reports

I believe I've found a problem with the latest version. I am running on a Google Nexus 7 (2013) with KitKat.

When I use it to mount a USB stick, all is great. However, I also have a USB media card reader, similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Compatibe-Samsung ... +micro+usb

If I use the USB media card reader, TC does not appear to read the card correctly. If the card (in my case SDHC and SD) is bigger than 8 GB, I sometimes get an error that indicates it is not able to read the amount of disk space available on the card. In other cases, it simply does not display the contents of the card and also does not provide any errors.

Any suggestions?

USB devices not recognized with Nexus 7v2 3g

Postby Guest » Tue Jan 21, 2014 10:31 am

I tried with several usb sticks, none works. I get no popup. I tried with nexus 7v2 3g and nexus 5. None works. I use android 4.4 kitkat on both with USB Stick plugin and total commander. I then tried troubleshooting with OTG Troubshooter:
It says "USB Host Support" ok, all others are red and a warning says:
device code: deb Hardware:flo
Warning: Expected 0, but found 1 hubs. Did you disconnect your OTG?

This happens when I have the stick connected or not. I already tried rebooting the devices without help.

Any help?

As long as the OTG Troubleshooter does not show four green checkmarks, the Plugin will not work, because Android does not recognize the attached Hardware.
The error seemed to be fixed with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), but there are some people saying, that it still does not work.
Can you test your hardware with another Android device or try another USB-OTG cable?

I'll try another OTG cable. Already tried another device, same issue. Thx for your help!

I'm using Nexus 5. Everything works fine as expected. But I can't find a way to "safety remove" my HDD (Samsung S1 120GB). I'm worry that this will make my HDD break someday. Thanks. :D

The Eject functionality was added in the free version release 1.3.6.
How to use:
If you started Total Commander from the USB-Stick Plugin app, just press the back key from Total Commander.
Otherwise start the app USB-Stick Plugin.
There is an Eject button which you can press (see the end of the video at min 3:13):

I will soon update the full version, so that this will be poosible there too.

On the other side, the Plugin does not cache any written data, so if the operation in Total Commander is finished it should be safe to detach the HDD. To be sure, wait one second. :-)

Hi!
Doesn't work the autostart with nexus 5 (4.4.2 no Root)
When i connect the usb-pen \ hdd automatically open the setting page! (with the "autostart" checkbox selected..)
and then i need to open TotalCommander manually..

I have the same configuration Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.2 and when I attach an USB device and grant rights to USB-Stick Plugin, Total Commander is started.
Which version of Total Commander and the Plugin have you installed?

Same for me..it ask me to grant right to plug-in.. and it open only the setting page..

I've the last version of both programs
Plug-in: v1.3.6
Tc: 2.04

Total Commander autostart only with the plugin in background (in the recent apps page) and after i've launched TC through the plug-in's button the first time..
Removing the plug-in app from the recent app, it still doesn't work..

(sorry for my poor english!)
