Error: "read capacity failed"

I was using compact flash cards from a Canon 7D and trying to transfer RAW files. Each .CR2 file is over 20Mb so transferring only 100Mb doesn't really test the system. I want to transfer a full 16Gb card to a 500Gb USB hard disk. As an aside, I used Nexus Media Importer with Total Commander and that worked without any errors. Problem is it can't copy from CF card to hard disk, only CF card to phone and then phone to hard disk which is too many steps for me. Thanks for you help

In Version 1.3.20 (free) a new initialization is sent to the Multi-Card-Reader.
This may fix the problem for some Card-Readers.
Any feedback about this fix is welcome,

thanks for trying to solve the problem. I'm afraid I've given up trying to do it this way. I've used 2 usb otg leads and they have both failed and both card readers gave errors. I've solved my problem by doing the transfer via wifi using a mobilelite from Kingston to copy from SD card to my 500Gb hard drive. To copy from the CF card I use my Canon 7D2 to copy files from the CF card to the SD card which is very quick.

Hi,

I tried three SDHC cards (one of them is brand new). I have no problem to access any of those SD cards through my camera (Canon) or laptop through a SD card reader. But Total Commander (version 2.50) with USB-stick plugin (version 1.3.13) can not access any of those SD memory.

From the discussion in the forum, Total Commander seems not having a solution yet. Any estimation on when will have fix for this issue?

Following is the error I reported earlier (cut short due to the size limitation).

Forgot to mention that My Card reader is IOGear model GFR209.
I did try both cases of insert SD card before and after SD card reader is connected (this is mentioned in your solution but does not help in my case).

I installed version 1.3.21(free). It does not resolve the problem.

It either pop out errer (just forwarded the log 10 min ago.) or simply detect nothing (shows "waiting for USB stick to be attached). Again, tried on multiple SD cards.

So no solution for the issue yet.

Still have problems with the SD card reader.
Inserting the compenents in various order, even switching on/off with the cardreader attached didn't help.
Asus Nexus 7 with Android 5.1 (not rooted) and Total Commander 2.60, USB otg & card reader.
Anyone?
